Kennet & Avon Canal Race (KACR 145) 2027
The Kennet & Avon Canal Race is a 145-mile non-stop event from Little Venice in London to Bristol, following canal towpaths and riverside trails through southern England. The route passes canalside towns, the Kennet Valley, Caen Hill Locks, Dundas Aqueduct and Bath, and moves through urban and quiet Wiltshire countryside.
Organised by Canalrace C.I.C., the event is volunteer powered and not for profit. It operates under UK Athletics rules with permission from the Canal & River Trust. Runners must be 20 or older. Entries are first come, first served through SiEntries; entries open on 31 October 2026 at 10:00 and close on 18 June 2027 at 06:00. Entry options include Canal Crew or Bring Your Own Crew, and both supported and unsupported entry categories are offered with associated fees.
Participants receive route guidance and runner information. Checkpoints provide drinks for all entrants, with food and kit‑bag arrangements for Canal Crew entrants. There is a 45 hour overall time limit and checkpoint cut‑offs; long gaps between checkpoints mean runners should carry sufficient food, water and essential kit.
