Kennekuk Road Runners - Dogs & Cats
This event takes place on May 16, 2026 at Kennekuk County Preserve - Hideaway, 22296 Henning Rd, Danville, IL 61834. It is organized around running and walking to support the Vermilion County Animal Shelter.
Event options include:
- 5K: Howl @ the Moon Loop only.
- 5 hour event: run or walk up to five hours on the Howl Loop or the Lake Mingo Trail.
Registration fees are stated for each option: the 5K is $35 and the 5 hour event is $30. A small number of event shirts will be available for purchase onsite; the shelter and Kennekuk Road Runners will sell shirts for cash. Food will be provided for participants in the five hour event after the event concludes.
Donations for the animal shelter are requested. Suggested items include pet food, newspaper, kitty litter, cleaning supplies, grooming items, and collars and leashes. The club states that every penny of profit is turned over to the dogs and cats, and that the first adoption fee will be paid by Kennekuk Road Runners as part of the event.
