Kennebunk Free Library 29th Edition 5K
The Kennebunk Free Library 29th Edition 5K is an established community running event held in Kennebunk, Maine. The race features a 5 km distance on a USATF-certified course.
The route starts and finishes at the library parking lot located at 112 Main Street. Participants travel through local neighborhoods and pass through the Hope Cemetery and Woods trails. The course transition includes paved surfaces as well as maintained trail sections.
Participants are categorized into eight different age brackets for the purpose of recognition. These categories include:
- Youth (14 and under)
- Ages 15-29
- Ages 30-39
- Ages 40-49
- Ages 50-59
- Ages 60-69
- Ages 70-79
- Ages 80 and up
Prizes are awarded to the top male and female finishers within each of these eight age groups. Following the completion of the race, an event is held on the library lawn featuring live music, food, and a beer tent.
