Kenmore Cowbell 7K, Akron, OH
The fifth annual Kenmore Cowbell 7K takes place in Kenmore, Akron, on June 6, 2026. The event includes running and walking races and a separate one-mile event, with options for spectators and volunteers.
The course begins at the historic Rialto Theatre and follows Kenmore Boulevard east to the south end of Summit Lake. Runners connect to the Towpath via the Summit Lake Trail, cross the lake area on two bridges, pass Summit Lake Nature Center and Summit Lake Park, then head west and south along the lake’s north side through a residential area before returning toward Kenmore Boulevard. The route combines urban streets and a lakeside trail with slight rolling terrain.

The finisher’s medal includes a literal cowbell with a ringer. Runners who complete five races in the Akron Promise City Series receive a specially designed medal by an Akron artist.
Proceeds support resources, mentorship and post-secondary scholarships for Akron Public School students in Kenmore and surrounding communities. Discounted registration is available until April 5, 2026. Registration fees vary by entry type, for example $30 for the adult 7K and $20 for the student 7K.
