Kendal to Preston Ultra 50
The Kendal to Preston Ultra 50 is a point to point 50 mile event held on 16 May 2026. The route runs from Lakeland Maze Farm Park to Lea Town and is signed from start to finish with mandatory checkpoints along the way. The overall cut off time for the event is 13 hours.
Event services include chip timing, live tracking, fully marked course signage, free professional photographs for competitors, and finisher items such as a medal and a hoodie. A full route map and data files for Garmin devices will be sent to competitors before the day.
Entry requires pre-registration and there are no entries on the day. Entries close on 10 May 2026 unless the event limit is reached. The entry fee is £95 and the event is restricted to participants aged over 18. Entry criteria require prior race experience: completion of a marathon in 6 hours or a 30 mile ultra in 7.5 hours.
There are seven mandatory checkpoints supplying water and snacks, at the following approximate mile points: Holme 7, Carnforth 14, Lancaster 21, Galgate football club 28, Garstang 35.5, Guys Thatched Hamlet 41, Pendle Marina Catforth 45.5. Random kit checks will be made and competitors found without all mandatory kit will be disqualified.
Mandatory kit includes a waterproof coat with sealed seams, long sleeved base layer, minimum 1 litre water container, fully charged mobile phone, and a foil blanket. Registration options offered include a coach transfer from Preston to Kendal, self travel with parking at the start, and on site camping at Lakeland Maze Farm Park with limited spaces.
