Kendal to Preston Ultra 50

The Kendal to Preston Ultra 50 is a long distance running event that takes participants on a journey through the scenic landscapes of Cumbria and Lancashire. The course begins at Raines Hall in the village of Sedgwick near Kendal and concludes at the Smiths Arms in Lea Town. The route is centered around the historic Lancaster Canal, providing a path that follows the waterway originally established for coal transport.

The route passes through several towns and villages, including Burton in Kendal, Tewitfield, Carnforth, Lancaster, Galgate, Forton, and Garstang. As participants move along the canal, they can observe Morecambe Bay to the west and various hills and dales to the east. The course is marked throughout and includes four dedicated checkpoints to support runners during the event.

  • 50 miles relay (4 person team)

The relay option is divided into four specific legs. The first leg covers 14 miles from the start to Carnforth. The second leg consists of 14 miles from Carnforth to Galgate Football Club. The third leg is 13 miles from Galgate to Guys Thatched Hamlet, and the final leg covers the remaining 9 miles to the finish line. Physical registration is open to individuals aged 18 and older.
