Event overview
The Kelpies Half Marathon is the 3rd edition of the race, scheduled for 26 September 2026 at Helix Park, Falkirk. The event starts and finishes at the Kelpies sculptures and crosses the Firth of Forth twice using the Clackmannanshire Bridge and the Kincardine Bridge. Total places are listed as 850 and the event status is open.
Course and practical information
The route passes around the Kelpies, follows paths and quiet roads through Skinflats, crosses the Clackmannanshire Bridge (with views of the Forth and the Kincardine Bridge), includes a short 30 m hill near Kincardine village and returns along the same paths to finish on the green at the Kelpies. The proposed cut off is 2 hours 30 minutes, after which marshals may begin taking down signage and parts of the course.
Race numbers will be issued at registration and include an integrated timing chip. All finishers receive a commemorative medal and a t-shirt. The organisers plan to provide two water stations on route, encourage refillable bottles, and use recyclable paper cups. A sports drink will be available at the finish. First aid cover will be at the start and finish areas. Earphones or plugs are not allowed when crossing roads; bone-conducting earphones are permitted. Runners should write an emergency contact on the reverse of their race number. Cancellation and refund policies apply if the event is rescheduled.
