Event Overview
The Kelowna Wine Country Runs take place in Kelowna, British Columbia, highlighting the scenic landscape of the Okanagan Valley. The event features courses that traverse country roads, landmarks, and lakefront parks, offering views of Okanagan Lake and the surrounding valley. Participants finish their respective routes at Waterfront Park in downtown Kelowna.
The event offers three distinct distances for in-person participation:
- 21 km: The route passes vineyards and lakefront views, utilizing the Mission Creek Greenway and finishing along the lake.
- 10 km: This course starts along the Mission Creek Greenway and continues along Okanagan Lake to the finish line.
- 5 km: A shorter route starting at Gyro Beach and following the lakefront to the central park area.
In-person registration includes a souvenir t-shirt, a finisher medal, and a commemorative wine glass. Participants also gain access to a post-run festival featuring wine, beer, cider, and music. For those unable to attend in person, virtual options for all three distances are available during the month of June. Prizes are awarded via email to the top three runners in each age category following the race weekend.
The courses are designed to incorporate local natural features, including the Mission Creek Greenway and the downtown waterfront area. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
