Keene Airport 5K
The Keene Airport 5K is a community race held on May 16, 2027 at Keene Dillant Hopkins Airport to benefit the Keene Senior Center. The event includes a single 5K run/walk and accepts walkers and strollers; dogs are not permitted.
The course starts at the airport terminal and follows a tree lined, flat, paved road that passes through wetlands. The route offers more protection from wind compared with exposed open courses. Bib pickup is available the day before at the Keene Senior Center and on race day at the airport; race day registration is also available at the airport.
Awards are given to the fastest male and female and to age group winners. Age groups begin under 20 and extend to 90 and over; beginning at 65 awards are given in five year age bands (for example 65 to 69, 70 to 74, etc.). There are additional random participant prizes that include a free helicopter ride and a free flying lesson; those random prizes require the winner to be present.
A separate raffle of 30 items with values reported between $100 and $1,500 runs in both locations. Raffle tickets are mainly sold to participants, volunteers, and Senior Center members; ticket bundles are offered at several price points and raffle winners need not be present.
