KCCC Fall Series 5K
This event is a trail 5K held inside Kill Creek Park at the Kill Creek Park marina in Olathe, Kansas. The distance is equivalent to 3.1 miles. Two race entries are listed: the standard 5K and a youth 5K. Registration fees are $35.00 for the 5K and $20.00 for the youth 5K. Registration opens February 1 and closes September 6.
Packet pick-up is available at two locations and times. On Friday, September 25, packets are available at the Mill Creek Activity Center in Shawnee. On race morning, packets are available at Kill Creek Park in Olathe. A photo ID is required to pick up a packet. Packets include a participant bib and safety pins. Bibs must be pinned on the front of the shirt or shorts and visible when crossing the finish line.
Entrants are placed into 10-year age groups based on age as of December 31 of the current year and scored in these groups: Under 18, 19-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, and 70+. Runners will line up in time-based waves that go off approximately every minute until all runners are on course. No outside pacers are allowed on the course; all participants on the course must wear the provided race bib. First, second, and third place medals are awarded in each age group for men and women. The Race Committee may delay the start or change the course if conditions warrant. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
