KC Comets 5K
The KC Comets 5K - Independence is an athletic event held at the Cable Dahmer Arena in Independence, Missouri. Participants compete in a 5 km run that concludes directly on the turf of the Kansas City Comets playing field. This event benefits the LOVE FUND for Children and is presented by Success on the Spectrum.
Registered runners have the opportunity to run alongside KC Comets players and members of the Comets Girls Dance Team. The race package for all participants Includes:
- 5 km entry
- Commemorative race T-shirt
- Finisher medal
- Two tickets to the Kansas City Comets home game against Baltimore following the event
All participants are eligible for a complimentary Chris Cakes breakfast, which is also available for purchase by spectators. Due to the finish line being located on the arena turf, pets are not permitted at this event.
Winners of each age bracket receive additional recognition at halftime during the evening game and a voucher for two tickets to a subsequent home game on March 27. Packet pick-up is available the day before the race at the arena's will-call office or on the morning of the event at the check-in table.
