Event overview
The KC Comets 5K is scheduled for Saturday, March 21, 2026, in Independence, Missouri at Cable Dahmer Arena. The event is a 5K run/walk with a course that finishes inside the arena on the pitch. Funds raised will support the Fox 4 Love Fund for Kids. The listed entry fee is $35, with a price increase after January 18, 2026 at 11:59pm CST.
Logistics and awards
Packet pickup is scheduled for Friday, March 20 from 3:00 to 6:00pm at a location to be determined, and packets may also be picked up on race morning at the race site beginning at 7:00am. All finishers will receive a custom finishers medal and a custom race shirt. The top three finishers in each age group will receive a voucher for two free tickets to an upcoming Kansas City Comets match on either March 21 or March 27 at Cable Dahmer Arena. The top overall male and female finishers will receive a VIP ticket package of four tickets to one of those matches. Age groups are 12 and under, 13-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, and 70 and over. Chris Cakes will provide a complimentary breakfast for race participants.
