Kayla O'Mara Memorial Road Race
The event offers multiple race options in Goodrich, Michigan, centered at Goodrich High School and spanning village and township streets. Distances include:
- 5 km (Run/Walk, Competitive Walk, Virtual 5k)
- 800 m (Youth Fun Run)
The 5k course begins on Hegel Road in front of Goodrich High School, passes through the Village of Goodrich via Pontiac Street, continues on Clarence into Atlas Township, includes a water stop at the Atlas Fire Department, and returns to the high school via the paved path with the finish at the school entrance. An alternate route will be used this year; it matches the course used in 2023.
Event timing rules state that overall winners and course records for the 5k are based on gun time, while age group awards use chip time. The Competitive Walk entry requires participants to remain walking; entrants who expect to run should register in the Run/Walk event. The Youth Fun Run route will be finalized later; finishers receive a medal and a post-run snack.
Registration opened on January 7, 2026. Registration deadlines and fees vary by event: standard 5k and virtual entries list a $25 fee, and the Youth Fun Run fee is $5. Virtual participants receive a virtual packet and physical race items; shipping is available for an additional $6 if local pickup is not used.
Race number pickup is scheduled at Bauman's Running & Walking Shop and at Goodrich High School on the days before the event and the morning of the event. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
