Event overview
The memorial road race in Goodrich, Michigan, offers in-person and virtual options across several distances. In-person events include a 5k Run/Walk, a separate 5k Competitive Walk (walking only; competitors must keep one foot on the ground), and an 800 m Youth Fun Run. A virtual 5k option is also available; virtual participants receive a virtual packet that includes a custom race bib, shirt, memorial finishers medal and additional race items. Shipping for virtual packets is available for an extra fee.
The 5k course begins on Hegel Road in front of Goodrich High School, tours the Village of Goodrich by way of Pontiac Street and Clarence into Atlas Township, includes a water stop at the Atlas Fire Department, and returns to Goodrich High School via the paved path with the finish at the school entrance. This year uses an alternate route that matches the 2023 course.
Registration and fees vary by event: most 5k options list a registration fee of $25.00 and the Youth Fun Run fee is $5.00. Registration opens in January and closes on the dates specified for each event. Race number pickup is scheduled on the days before the race and the morning of the event at locations including a local running shop and Goodrich High School.
