Kawartha Lakes Winter Festival
The Kawartha Lakes Winter Festival is a weekend of winter trail running, snowshoe events and family activities held the last weekend of January 2027 at Eganridge Resort, Fenelon Falls, Ontario. The festival is presented by Snowshoe Canada and uses groomed trails on the resort golf course when weather permits. A hot meal is included with registration and all participants receive a finishers souvenir.
The program includes an evening torch light 4 km snowshoe walk with dinner and music, athlete familiarization on the course, pre-race package pickup, the Canadian Open Snowshoe Running Championship with lunch and awards, and an outdoor family winter festival with live music and on-site activities.
Event features and services:
- 1 km kids and family run/walk on groomed trail.
- ~5 km short course one-loop run or walk.
- ~10 km long course two-loop run or walk.
- 4 km torch light non-competitive snowshoe walk.
Snowshoe and trail shoe options are available across events. A limited number of snowshoes are available for rental and rentals are picked up at package pickup. Prize money, plaques and medals will be presented, and top Canadians will be engraved on the Snowshoe Canada Champions Trophy. The family festival includes tobogganing, snowmobile rides, snowman making, a bonfire and marshmallow roasting. A donation from the event will go to the Boys & Girls Club of Kawartha Lakes and some festival activities request a minimum donation.
