About the race
The XACT Kawartha Sun Run on June 13, 2027, takes place in Fenelon Falls at Garnet Graham Beach Park, 98 Francis Street West. The event offers three distances:
- Half Marathon
- 10K
- 5K
The route follows the Victoria Trail and runs alongside waterfront, parks and natural areas. Organizers describe the course as fast, flat and scenic. Finishers receive a finishers medal and a custom event shirt.
Aid stations supplying water and XACT electrolyte drink are located approximately every 2.5 to 3.0 km. XACT energy bars are available at the half marathon turn aid station. Portable toilets will be available at each aid station and at the half marathon turn around. Runners are asked to keep their garbage until an aid station for disposal.
Every participant must have a bib number and timing chip. Race kit pick up options include three scheduled locations with listed dates and times; a VIP Kit Pick Up ticket is required for race day kit pick up. Mail out race kits are available as an add-on.
Due to narrow roads and insurance requirements, strollers and dogs are not allowed. The half marathon has a cut-off time of 3 hours 30 minutes. Parking is available at the Fenelon Falls Community Centre with about a 20 minute walk to the beach park; other downtown lots and street parking are closer but may be congested. Do not attempt to access Garnet Graham Beach Park via Water Street as it is a dead end.
The event has a no refunds policy. If a government or public health order cancels the in person event, a virtual option may be offered. Transfers between entrants or distances are permitted until June 10, 2027 for a CA$5 administration fee. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
