XACT Kawartha Sun Run 2026
The XACT Kawartha Sun Run takes place in Fenelon Falls, Ontario, often referred to as the "Jewel of the Kawarthas." This event features a course that starts at Garnet Graham Beach Park and follows the Victoria Trail, providing a flat and fast route through scenic waterfront areas, parks, and natural landscapes.
Participants can choose from three distinct distances:
- Half Marathon
- 10k
- 5k
The Half Marathon has a specific cut-off time of 3 hours and 30 minutes. Due to insurance requirements and the narrow nature of certain sections of the route, dogs and strollers are not permitted in any of the races.
Aid stations are positioned approximately every 2.5 to 3.0 km along the course. These stations provide water and electrolyte drinks. No gels or solid nutrition are provided; runners are expected to carry their own supplies and use the waste bins at the aid stations for disposal. Portable toilets are located at each aid station and at the half marathon turnaround point.
All registered runners receive a timing chip, a bib number, a custom event shirt, and a finishers medal. Race kit pickup is organized in multiple locations including Lindsay, Toronto, and Fenelon Falls in the days leading up to the race. On-site parking is available at the Fenelon Falls Community Centre and various downtown lots, followed by a walk to the start line.
The event serves as a platform for fundraising in support of the Kawartha Lakes Food Source. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
