About the race

The Katonah ASP 6th Annual Monster Dash offers both an in person 5K and a virtual 5K to raise funds for Appalachia Service Project. The in person event is scheduled at FDR State Park, Parking Lot 1 (at the Taconic S entrance) in Yorktown Heights, NY on October 31, 2026. The virtual option can be completed at any time and place during the event window.

Participants can register beginning August 20, 2026; registration closes on September 18, 2026. The event description notes that the first 50 registrations will receive a custom Monster Dash finisher medal. Costumes are encouraged for the in person race, and light refreshments will be available after the in person event.

The Monster Dash supports a service trip planned for 2027 with Appalachia Service Project, with proceeds intended to help make homes in Appalachia warmer, safer and drier. Participants who complete the virtual event are invited to share finisher photos and times on social media.
