Kato Fun Run 2027
Kato Fun Run is a community-led 5K fun run and celebration in North Mankato, Minnesota on May 22, 2027. The event is an independent fundraising effort that benefits Greater Mankato Area United Way's youth mental health and suicide prevention initiatives, supporting children in Blue Earth, Le Sueur, Nicollet, and Waseca counties. The organizers set a goal to raise $5,000 in the inaugural year.
The event program includes an afterparty with live music from local band Dirty 930, games and inflatables for kids and adults, bubbles, face painting, community booths and resources from local organizations, and food and refreshments. The event page describes opportunities to walk, volunteer, cheer, or explore the community activities alongside the 5K.
Registration pricing is provided in tiers: Early Bird registration is $30 through December 31, 2026, Standard registration is $35 from January 1 to May 21, 2027, and a Fashionably Late race day fee is $40. Race Roster processing fees apply. Course details, start and finish locations, parking information, and the full race-day schedule are being finalized and will be announced closer to the event date.
