Kato Fun Run 2027
Kato Fun Run is a brand-new, community-led 5K event in North Mankato, Minnesota, held Saturday, May 22, 2027. The event combines a timed or untimed community run with a public celebration and fundraising purpose.
The run is an independent fundraising event benefiting Greater Mankato Area United Way's youth mental health and suicide prevention initiatives. Funds raised will support children across Blue Earth, Le Sueur, Nicollet, and Waseca counties. The organizers have set a goal of raising $5,000 for the inaugural 5K.
Registration pricing is tiered: Early Bird costs $30 through December 31, 2026; Standard registration is $35 from January 1 through May 21, 2027; Fashionably Late is $40 on race day. Race Roster processing fees apply.
An afterparty follows the run and includes live music from local band Dirty 930, games and inflatables, bubbles and face painting, community booths and resource tables, and food and refreshments. The event materials note that participants may walk, volunteer, cheer, visit booths, or attend the afterparty activities.
