Lost In The Woods - Nicollet, MN
Lost In The Woods is an off trail race scheduled for June 5, 2027 in Nicollet, Minnesota. The advertised distance is a 25 Miler composed of five loops; each loop is exactly 5.00 miles and five loops completed within the event time cutoffs constitute an official finish. Participants may stop after one loop if they choose.
The course lies entirely within the Swan Lake Wildlife Management Area - North Star Unit and is primarily off established trails, often following deer trails. Expect natural obstacles and varied footing: creek crossings occur twice per loop and will likely result in getting wet; there are downed trees, grass, rocks, underbrush, burning nettle and thorny vegetation. The route includes some hills but each loop is listed with a net elevation gain of 0 feet. Ticks are specifically noted as a hazard. Organizers recommend clothing that covers skin and note goggles are optional.
Navigation is required. The map and course directions are sent to entrants the day before the race, the course will not be marked, and participants should bring a compass and basic compass skills. Time cutoffs apply for each loop. Registration closes on June 2 at 11:59 PM CT and refunds are not available. Minors must receive permission from the race organizers before registering, and organizers reserve the right to refuse registration of a minor.
