Location and date
Kathy's Run for Cancer is scheduled for Saturday, July 4, 2026, in Richland, MI 49083. The start and finish are at Gull Lake High School, 7753 N 34th St, Richland.

The race program includes the following distances:
- 5K Run/Walk
- 10K Run
Early online registration runs February 1 through May 31 for $30. Online registration from June 1 through July 2 is $35. Late registration on July 3 and July 4 is $40. A family discount of $3 off per person applies for groups of 3 to 5. No refunds are issued. Online registrants are guaranteed a technical tee shirt if registered by June 23; shirt sizes cannot be exchanged at packet pickup.
Packet pickup and registration are held at Gull Lake High School on the day before the race and on race morning.
Course, purpose, timing, results and safety
All events start at the high school and the course runs through streets near the Gull Lake Schools and the Richland countryside. Aid stations are placed on the course. The 10K will use the 5K route twice, with separate start and finish chutes. Computerized timing with disposable chips will be used and results will be posted live on RunSignUp. Age divisions range from 9 and Under through 80 and Over.
Proceeds will support local cancer centers and a proposed scholarship for graduating Gull Lake High School seniors entering nursing. For safety, no bicycles, skateboards, roller-blades, or roller skates are allowed on the course; baby strollers are permitted and dogs are not allowed.
