About the race
The Kansas City Marathon is an annual road-racing event held in Kansas City, MO. The event offers both in-person and virtual race options and passes through several well-known city locations and neighborhoods, including the World War I Museum & Memorial, the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art, the Kauffman Center for the Performing Arts, Union Station, the Country Club Plaza, T-Mobile Center, Waldo, Westport, and 18th & Vine.

Registration for in-person races opens on 10/21/2026 and closes on 10/26/2026; published in-person fees range from $35.00 to $90.00. Virtual race registration also opens 10/21/2026 with closing dates through 10/30/2027; virtual fees range from $50.00 to $65.00. Age minimums are specified for some races: marathon entrants must be at least 16, half marathon entrants at least 14. Each participant must be registered under their own name with accurate information. Registration fees are non-refundable.
