Kakabeka Falls Half Marathon
The Kakabeka Falls Half Marathon takes place in Kakabeka Falls, Ontario on Sunday, August 16, 2026. The event offers two race distances:
- 8K
- Half Marathon
All races start at the Legion. The course runs on a closed section of the TransCanada Highway, crosses two scenic bridges, follows the Poplar Point Trail in Kakabeka Falls Provincial Park, and includes the rolling hills of Luckens Road. These features create a mix of highway, bridge, trail, and road running.
The 2026 event is the 9th running of the Kakabeka Falls race and introduces the Fire & Falls Legacy Challenge. That challenge links the Fire Fighters Ten Mile Road Race and the Kakabeka Falls Half Marathon for a combined total of 23.1 miles. Runners who complete both races and who registered for the challenge in advance receive a commemorative finishing challenge coin. The challenge registration fee was listed as $10 during February only, slots are limited, and the coin is awarded only to those who sign up in advance and record official finishing times in both events.
The race is held in support of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 225. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
