High Noon 24Hr Trail Race & Relay
The High Noon 24Hr Trail Race & Relay is an annual endurance event held at the Kamview Nordic Centre in Thunder Bay, Ontario. The event focuses on covering as much distance as possible within a set timeframe. Participants run on a 3.38 km loop consisting of cross-country trails with scenic views. As portions of the course are unlit, runners are required to use headlamps during the night.
The event offers several categories for different levels of participation:
- Solo: Available in 6-hour, 12-hour, and 24-hour formats.
- Relay Teams: Groups of any size can compete, with only one member allowed on the course at a time.
- Youth Solo (4hr): Dedicated category for participants aged 17 and under.
This is a cupless race. Facilities include a fully loaded aid station with snacks, water refills, and specialized nutrition products. Participants have access to a designated area called the High Noon Corral for tents and home bases. The event features chip timing with live results, portable washrooms, and ongoing activities such as bonfires and games throughout the day and night.
Solo runners earn specific milestones based on the number of laps completed, ranging from medals for marathon distance (13 laps) to a 100-mile belt buckle (48 laps). Relay finishers and youth participants receive finisher medals. Food is provided during the event, including late-night pizza and a complimentary pancake breakfast on Sunday morning.
