About the race
The Kahawai Point Coastal Classic is an inaugural running event held on Sunday 4 October 2026 at Kahawai Point, Auckland. The programme offers multiple course options:
- 8 km Coastal Classic, chip-timed and competitive, approximately 45% trail, 45% coastal and 10% road.
- 5 km Kids Run for under-15s; every child is a finisher.
- 5 km Community Walk with no timing and open to all.
Every finisher receives the 2026 Coastal Classic t-shirt; entries submitted by 20 September secure t-shirt size. A portion of each entry fee is donated to the Kariaotahi Surf Club to support local water safety volunteers.
Entry fees are flat-rate by age: $40 for adults and $30 for under 15s; a family pass for two adults and two kids is offered at $110. A Food Truck Collective will be present at the event centre with paid food options after participants finish. Pre-event bib and t-shirt collection is available on the Saturday before the race at Paddock to Pantry.
