Event Overview
Kacie's Run is a community athletic event held at the Tommy Standridge Stadium in Carrollton, Texas. The event serves as a fundraiser to support the CFBISD All Stars Special Olympics team. Participants can choose between running courses or a non-competitive option to support the cause.
The event features two primary distances:
- 5K (3.1 miles)
- Family Fun Run (1 mile)
For those unable to attend the physical race, a "Sleep In" registration option is available as an alternative way to provide financial support to the Special Olympics team.
Course and Facilities
The race takes place at the Carrollton-Farmers Branch ISD's Tommy Standridge Stadium. All general parking is located in the Visitor Side parking lot, accessible from W. Valwood Parkway, located approximately half a mile west of Interstate 35 North. Limited accessibility parking is available specifically for those with mobility needs near the event area.
Timing and Awards
Participants in the competitive events utilize race|result Bib-Tag timing technology integrated into the race bib. Awards are presented to the first overall male and female finishers, as well as the top three male and female finishers across various age categories starting from ages 5-7 up to 70+. Specialized recognition is also given for fundraising efforts, team spirit, and campus community support through the All In for All Stars Award.
Logistics
Packet pick-up is held on designated days at the Marie Huie Special Education Center prior to the event. Registration includes an event t-shirt for those who sign up before the specified February deadline.
