Kacie's Run
Kacie's Run is a community event held in Carrollton, Texas. It takes place at Tommy Standridge Stadium, located at 1330 W. Valwood Parkway.
Events
The event offers three participation options:
- A 5K run
- A 1 Mile Family Fun Run
- A "Sleep In" option
Logistics
Check-in for participants begins in the morning. Awards are scheduled to follow the main events.
Parking is available at the stadium, with general event parking directed to the Visitor Side lot. Limited accessibility parking is available near the event area for those with mobility needs.
Race packet pick-up is available on Tuesday and Wednesday before the event at the Marie Huie Special Education Center in Carrollton. Registrations received after a certain date are not guaranteed an event t-shirt, but other race materials will be available on the day of the event.
Timing and Awards
The event uses Bib-Tag timing integrated into the race bib, which participants must wear to be timed and eligible for awards. Results will be available online.
Awards are given in several categories, including first overall male and female, the most money raised, Team Spirit Awards for costumes and enthusiasm, and top three placements across numerous age groups. An "All In for All Stars" award is also presented to the campus demonstrating the strongest community support.
Additional Information
The event has a detailed weather policy prioritizing participant safety. It adheres to a district lightning policy and has designated emergency shelters. In case of cancellation, the event has a reserved rain date. The organizers state that as a charity event with fixed costs, no refunds will be provided if the event is cancelled, with registration fees considered a donation.
