K-State Homecoming Philanthropy 5K Run/Walk
The event offers a 3.1 miles in-person run/walk held at the K-State Alumni Center in Manhattan and a separate virtual 3.1 miles option with a participation window from October 4 through October 11. The Homecoming 5K benefits Flint Hills Breadbasket, the regional food assistance organization serving Manhattan, Riley County, St. George, and Fort Riley.
Registration is $30 per participant with a $5 discount available to current K-State Alumni Association members and K-State students; the discount is applied during registration and requires an Alumni Association member number or a K-State eID. A T-shirt is guaranteed for registrations completed by September 23 at 12:00 p.m. Registration and shipping fees are non-refundable.
The in-person race presents awards for the top three finishers in each of four categories: non-student male, non-student female, student male, and student female. Student group competition participants must participate in person.
Virtual participants complete their 3.1 miles anytime within the event window and submit their time by October 11; virtual results are compiled separately from the in-person race and no awards are given for the virtual event. Virtual race packets selected for shipping are mailed during the week of October 5; unshipped packets may be picked up at the K-State Alumni Center on the event weekend.
