Running Event in Helena
Just for the Helena of It is an annual fall running event held in Helena, Montana. Organized by the Treasure State Runners, a local non-profit organization, the event serves as a fundraiser for community groups including The Friendship Center and Girls Thrive. The race features several distances to accommodate a variety of participants:
- Half Marathon (13.1 miles)
- 10K (6.2 miles)
- 5K (3.1 miles)
- Kids Mini Mile (approx. 1 mile)
The Half Marathon and 10K courses are designed as out-and-back routes. The 10K utilizes the local Rails to Trails and Centennial pathways, while the Half Marathon passes through historic and scenic areas of the city. The 5K route is located at Tenmile Creek Park within the Prickly Pear Land Trust. For younger participants ages 5 to 12, the Kids Mini Mile consists of a short loop located near the finish line area.
Participants who complete their registration before October 1, 2026, receive a race shirt and a finisher medal. The event also includes an after-race celebration at the finish line. Additionally, virtual options are available for the Half Marathon, 10K, and 5K distances for those unable to attend in person. The event takes place outdoors and proceeds regardless of weather conditions, including rain or snow. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
