Just a Pair of Shoes Run/Walk 5K to Empower Kids
The Just a Pair of Shoes Run/Walk 5K takes place on Saturday, May 9, 2026 in Dayton, Ohio, with the event based at Southern Ohio Brewing. The event is organized to raise funds and awareness for children in the Dayton area.
Runner check in and day of registration will be inside Southern Ohio Brewing. Registration fees are listed in US dollars and include an early price of $30 for the 5K with an increase later in April; youth pricing is lower and also increases later in April. Each registered participant will receive a long sleeve shirt if they register by April 30. Shirt sizes range from Youth S to Youth XL and Adult S to Adult 3XL.
The course runs on the Beavercreek bike path and the event will be professionally timed. First place male and female winners will receive custom handcrafted trophies in the following age categories: 9 and under; 10-14; 15-19; 20-29; 30-39; 40-49; 50-59; 60-69; 70-79.
After the race the community will gather at Southern Ohio Brewing. A portion of beverage sales will be donated to Just a Pair of Shoes. A food truck will be available and raffle tickets can be purchased. Parking is available at the brewery, the adjacent park, and a large lot two doors down, with signs and volunteers directing participants.
