Jurassic Coast 10k
The Jurassic Coast 10k is a non-profit running event held in Budleigh Salterton. The race is organized by a team of volunteers, and all money raised is donated to the local FORCE Cancer Charity, which supports regional cancer services. The event features two primary distances:
- 10 km
- Children's Fun Run
The event headquarters is located at the north end of the Lime Kiln Car Park, situated in front of the Budleigh Salterton Cricket Club and adjacent to a children's playground. The 10 km course begins on the seafront at the south end of the car park and finishes back at the headquarters. Participants can find the location at the eastern end of Budleigh's pebble beach, approximately 10 miles from Junction 30 of the M5.
The route is noted for its scenic views along the World Heritage Coastline and includes trail sections with hills and steps. For safety and clear communication with marshals, runners are requested not to wear headphones. No dogs are permitted to accompany participants on the course.
Facilities at the site include over 400 parking spaces at the main car park, with additional parking available at Rolle Mews and Lower Station Road. All finishers receive a medal, and refreshments are provided at the 5 km mark and the race headquarters. The 10 km event is open to runners aged 15 and over, while the fun run is available for children between the ages of 4 and 14. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
