Event overview

The Jurassic Extinction / Jurassic Coast event is a multi-distance ultra held along the Jurassic Coast World Heritage site. It is scheduled for 20-21 June 2026 and finishes at Exmouth Seafront. Routes follow the South West Coast Path and cover sections of coastline that run from Old Harry Rocks to Orcombe Point. Entries open 25 July 2025 and close 11 June 2026. Entry fees range from £59 to £200.

Distances and race details

  • 105 miles - South Haven Point (Poole) to Exmouth.
  • 100 km - Nothe Fort (Weymouth) to Exmouth.
  • 70 km - South Haven Point (Poole) to Nothe Fort (Weymouth).
  • 50 km - Lyme Regis to Exmouth.
  • 33 km - Beer to Exmouth.

Height gain varies by distance, from about 1,050 m for 33 km to 5,100 m for 105 miles. All courses use self-navigation on the South West Coast Path and provide live GPS tracking. Time limits are stated per distance (for example, 38 hours for 105 miles, 25 hours for 100 km, 14 hours for 70 km and 50 km, 12 hours for 33 km). ITRA / UTMB index points are allocated to several distances (for example, 6 points for 105 miles, 4 points for 100 km, 2 points for 50 km; 70 km points are listed as TBC). The event lists well stocked aid stations and awards oak coasters to finishers of the shorter distances and a special buckle for 105-mile finishers.
