Event overview
The Jungle Gardens run is a multi-distance running event held at Jungle Gardens on Hwy. 329 in Avery Island, LA 70513. The event includes these options:
- 1 Mile Fun Run
- 5K Run
- 7K Trail Run
- Virtual 5K or 7K (with t-shirt)
The 5K and 7K offer registration options with or without a t-shirt. The virtual event includes a t-shirt option; shipping was offered for an additional fee. Finisher medals are awarded for the 1 Mile, 5K and 7K.
Purpose and course
The event benefits St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Organizers noted a fundraising pledge of $300,000 for 2025. The on-site course follows a hard-packed road that runs through Jungle Gardens.
Registration, awards and other details
Registration fees shown on the event page range from about $30 to $45 for the 5K and 7K, and $35 for the virtual option. The 5K and 7K t-shirt was guaranteed for participants registered by October 13 that year. Age entries and awards include standard age groups (for example 1-14, 15-19, 20-29, up to 70+ for 5K and 7K). Awards listed include top overall male and female for the 1 Mile, and top overall, masters, grand masters, plus 1st-3rd by age group for the 5K and 7K.
