HopeFest 5K

HopeFest 5K takes place on March 21 at the Youngsville Sports Complex Slemco Amphitheatre, 801 Savoy Rd, Youngsville, LA 70592. The event is a charity race that benefits special needs children through the STM Options Program. Proceeds and on-site charitable donations support that program.

• I Mile Fun Run/Walk
• 5K Run/Walk
• 1 Mile Teams Division
• 5K Teams Division
• Participant With A Special Need or Disability

Teams are organized for schools and businesses. When a team reaches five members, the first four registrants receive a $5 refund; later team registrants pay a reduced registration fee of $25. Pre-registration cost is listed as $30 and the walk-up rate as $35.

Packet pickup is provided at STM High School, 450 E. Farrel Rd, Lafayette, and there is also packet pickup on race morning at the Youngsville Sports Complex. For the 5K, certificate awards are given to first through third place finishers in each age group and cash prizes are awarded to the overall male and female winners. Age groups run from 9 & Under up to 60 & Over. The race is chip timed by Pelican Timing.

An all-day HopeFest music festival is held at the site after the race with food vendors, kids activities, face-painting, and parking at the sports complex. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
