Jungle Escape - Way Over Yonder Trail Run
Jungle Escape takes place at Jungle Habitat in West Milford, New Jersey on October 4, 2026. The event is part of the Way Over Yonder Trail Run Series and uses a USATF sanctioned course that mixes single track trails, some fire road and paved sections with notable climbs and descents.
Courses are looped so runners repeat the main loop for longer distances. Distances offered include:
- 13.2 miles Half Marathon plus, two loops
- 6.6 miles 10K plus, one loop with 600+ feet elevation gain
- 3.4 miles 5K plus, one loop with about 300 feet elevation gain
The event provides cupless aid stations and supplies such as water, GU Gels or Chews, and hydration drink options. Runners receive access to RideWithGPS course maps during the event; a charged phone and the app are recommended to assist with navigation. Required gear suggestions include a hydration pack or bottle, at least 200 calories of carried nutrition and a whistle.
All finishers receive wooden finisher plaques. Top three men and women earn medals by age group: Half Marathon awards five year age groups from 19 and under up to 70 plus; 10K awards ten year age groups starting at 19 and under.
