Jungle Escape - Way Over Yonder Trail Run
The event takes place on October 4, 2026 at Jungle Habitat in West Milford, NJ. It is part of the Way Over Yonder Trail Run Series and is held on a USATF sanctioned course that mixes single track trails, fire road and paved sections with notable descents and climbs.
Distances offered
- Half Marathon+ : two loops, 13.2 miles
- 10K+ : one loop, 6.6 miles, about 600+ feet elevation gain
- 5K+ : one loop, 3.4 miles, about 300 feet elevation gain
The Half Marathon requires runners to complete the first lap in under 1 hour 45 minutes to begin the second lap. The course uses looped routing so the Half passes the start/finish area between laps.
Aid stations are cupless; runners are encouraged to carry a hydration pack or bottle and at least 200 calories of nutrition. The event will provide GU gels or chews, water and GU or Skratch hydration drink. All registered participants receive access to RideWithGPS course maps and should preload the app or download GPX files for navigation.
Parking in the state park carries a $5 per car fee; pre-payment during registration is an option. Finishers receive wooden finisher plaques and top finishers receive age group medals. A post race party is provided for participants. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
