Juneteenth Walk and Run
This event marks the Juneteenth anniversary and promotes freedom and inclusion in running and healthy lifestyles. It is presented as a community activity that welcomes participants for walking or running.
The event is free and unsanctioned, open to all. Participants meet at the Shepard Branch Library at 850 N Nelson Rd., Columbus, OH 43219. Available distances include:
- 1 Mile Underground Railroad Marker
- 5K Underground Trail
- 4 Mile Underground Trail
Local running groups Black Men Run and Black Girls Run Columbus are collaborating with Fleet Feet Columbus and Saucony. Raffle prizes include free entries to the Columbus Marathon 5K and 1 Mile events. Saucony will offer shoe demos on the trail for participants to try.
An exclusive Juneteenth Unisex Vintage Triblend Tee is offered for $25, and registrants may select no shirt for free event registration. One hundred percent of tee proceeds will support future Juneteenth community walks and runs. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
