JOYRUN
JOYRUN is a community running event held at Heritage Park, Shelter 1, in Olathe, Kansas. The event supports JoyKC, a nonprofit that provides free, faith-based programming for teens (ages 15 and older) and adults with disabilities in the Kansas City area.
The event program includes these distances:
- 5K (3.1 miles)
- 1 Mile Run
- 1 Mile Walk
- Kids 1 Mile Run/Walk for children 12 years and under
Registration fees vary by date. Examples from the fee schedule include a 5K fee tiered at $30, $40, and $45; 1 mile events at $25, $35, and $40; and the kids 1 mile at $12, $15, and $20. Children under age 5 may participate in the kids mile at no cost. Registration includes a t-shirt, with guaranteed shirts available to participants through September 1.
Packet pick-up is offered before race day at Community Covenant Church and on race day at Heritage Park Shelter 1. The event includes an After Bash celebration immediately after the races. Fundraising options are available for individuals and teams through the registration process. Dogs on leash are permitted on race day.
