Event Overview
The Josh Lee Memorial 5K Run is a community athletic event held in Spartanburg, South Carolina. The race is organized in memory of a former USC Upstate student and athlete. Participants complete a 5 km course, with all finishers receiving a custom commemorative medal.
Charitable Impact
The proceeds from the event are donated to the Josh Lee Memorial Scholarship Fund at USC Upstate. This fund was established to support student-athletes within the USC Upstate Cross Country and Track & Field programs. Those who cannot participate in the run have the option to provide a direct donation to the cause.
Event Logistics
The event takes place at 300 Hodge Drive on the USC Upstate campus. For those who wish to collect their materials in advance, early packet pickup is available on the Friday preceding the race at the Hodge Building.
Awards and Categories
Awards are presented to the top three overall male and female finishers. Additionally, the winner of each specific age group receives a custom trophy cup, with further recognition for second and third place finishers. The age categories include:
- Youth and teenagers from under 10 through 19
- Adult brackets in five-year increments from 20-24 up to 70-74
- Seniors aged 75 and over
