Jordanelle Triathlon
The Jordanelle Triathlon takes place at Jordanelle Reservoir, Rock Cliff Recreation Area in Kamas, Utah, and has been held since 1998. The event offers sprint and intermediate Olympic distance options and includes triathlon, aquabike, and duathlon formats. Packet pickup is held on multiple days before race day at designated locations; there is no packet pickup on race morning.
Distances
- Sprint: 750 yards swim, 12.5 miles bike, 3.2 miles run
- Intermediate (Olympic): 1500 yards swim, 24.8 miles bike, 6.2 miles run
The swim is a rectangular, counterclockwise course with a time-trial start format, and expected June water temperatures are typically between 58 and 64 degrees. The bike courses follow State Route 32 and surrounding roads, described as a false flat with gentle grades; major intersections are manned by law enforcement. The run is on paved roads and wooden bridges inside Rock Cliff Recreation Area, with a single loop for sprint and two loops for Olympic. Aid stations appear approximately every 1 to 1.5 miles and include water and electrolyte replacement.
Logistics note: on-site parking is limited. Early registrants may receive parking passes at packet pickup; other participants and spectators use Francis Fairgrounds and shuttle service to the venue. The venue is a protected nature area; pets are not allowed and participants are asked to pack out trash. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
