Jonquil City Jog 5K
The Jonquil City Jog is an annual event in Smyrna, Georgia. It supports the Campbell High School Educational Foundation and the local community.
The main event is a 5 km race on a USATF-certified course. The route starts and finishes at Smyrna City Hall. It is an out-and-back course on Atlanta Road, described as flat. This course can be used as an AJC Peachtree Road Race qualifier.
The event offers several activities:
- 5 km Timed Run
- 5 km Untimed Walk/Run
- 1 km Fun Run
- Tot Trot
- Virtual 5 km Runner
For the 5 km Timed Run, awards are given to the overall and masters finishers. Age group awards are presented to the top three male and female finishers across many categories. The first-place finishers receive a special pie. All 1 km and Tot Trot finishers get a ribbon.
Most registered participants receive a commemorative T-shirt, though there are options to register without one. Parking is available in lots around the downtown Smyrna Business District. The event is described as family-friendly, with shorter events for children. The organizers state that the 5 km course, which shares the road with vehicle traffic, is not considered a safe environment for strollers or baby joggers.
