Johnson Branch Legacy Run
The event takes place on September 19, 2026 at Ray Roberts State Park Johnson Branch, with the Nature Center address listed as 100 Parkway 4153, Valley View, TX 76272.
Distances offered:
- 15K Trail Run on winding dirt paths with scenic lake views
- 10K Ruck March on rugged terrain with a required ruck weight for awards
- 5K Paved Run on a paved course
All participants receive a custom race shirt. Finisher medals are provided for the 15K and 5K. Finisher patches are provided for the 10K ruck march. Award structure for the 15K and 5K includes 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place male and female overall and masters, plus 1st–3rd in the listed age groups: 14 & Under, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, and 70 & Over. The 10K ruck march awards 1st place overall female and male carrying a standard ruck weight (male 35 lbs and female 20 lbs).
The race is cupless. Participants must carry a personal hydration device; water and sports drink are available at aid stations for refilling. Aid stations will offer fuel such as peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, potato chips, and double stuffed Oreos, and will stock basic first aid and personal care items.
Packet pickup is available Thursday September 17 at Vitality IV Therapy, Friday September 18 at the Nature Center, and on race day at the Nature Center. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
