Event Overview
The Canyonlands Half Marathon and 5 Mile is a road running event in Moab, Utah. The first half marathon was held in 1976. The course runs alongside the Colorado River with views of red rock formations near Arches National Park.
Course and Logistics
The half marathon and 5 mile courses start and finish at Lions Park. The route winds along the Colorado River. There are six aid stations on the course providing water and Gatorade Endurance Formula. A pace of 15:30 per mile or faster is required to meet course cutoff times. Highway 128 is closed to all traffic during the event.
All participants must take a shuttle from Helen M. Knight Elementary School to the start line; there is no parking at Lions Park. Spectator shuttles begin later. Gear check is available at the start.
Registration and Requirements
Packet pickup is available the day before the race at Lions Park and for a limited time on race morning at the start line. There is no race day registration. A photo ID is required for packet pickup. Entries are non-transferable.
Participants receive a finisher's medal, a custom shirt, and a bag. Post-race refreshments are provided. Dogs are not allowed on shuttles or at Lions Park. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
