About the Race

The Arches Ultra is a trail running event in Moab, Utah. It is the third event in the Triple Crown of Moab series. The race takes place in winter on a lower-elevation course that offers views of Moab cliffs, Arches National Park, and the snow-capped La Sal Mountains. The course runs along the border of Arches National Park, using the Bar M, Klonzo, and Klondike Trail Systems. It also passes dinosaur tracks in Utahraptor State Park. The trails vary from smooth to technical slickrock, with some sandy sections.

Distances

The event offers four race distances:

  • 50 Mile (low point 4331', high point 5135', elevation gain/loss 4524')
  • 50K (low point 4331', high point 4852', elevation gain/loss 2894')
  • Half Marathon (low point 4462', high point 4780', elevation gain/loss 873')
  • 9K (low point 4560', high point 4708', elevation gain/loss 295')

Event Details

Packet pickup is scheduled for the day before the race at the start/finish line, Seven Mile RV Park on Highway 191. Race-day packet pickup is also available. Parking is at the start/finish area, but carpooling is encouraged as space is limited.

The event features cupless aid stations. Runners must provide their own reusable cup or bottle for water and other drinks. Water dispensers will be available at the start/finish and all aid stations.

All registered runners receive a custom race shirt, a BOCO Gear technical trucker hat, and a finisher's medal. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
