John Wayne Grit Series – Fort Worth (November 7, 2026)
This event is a fundraising 5K run in the Fort Worth Stockyards, Fort Worth, Texas, that benefits the John Wayne Cancer Foundation. The course begins at the "John Wayne: An American Experience" exhibit, follows the cobblestone streets of the Stockyards, continues along the Trinity Trail with views of the downtown Fort Worth skyline, and finishes back in the Stockyards.
The race is for participants ages 10 and up. Each participant receives a finisher shirt and a finisher mug, and one event entry includes access to the John Wayne exhibit and a shop discount. Packet pickup is available at the exhibit on the day before the event and on the morning of the event. Cancer survivors who register may receive a complimentary yellow bandana at packet pickup while supplies last.
Logistics note: the event is cupless at aid stations, so participants should bring a handheld bottle or hydration pack; filled water bottles will be provided to finishers. An aid station is located at the approximate 1.5 mile point on the course and is passed twice. There are podium prizes for the 5K with three female and three male winners. Parking for participants is designated at Lot 2. Merchandise will be available for sale on site. Registration closes November 4, 2026, and the race is listed as sold out.
