John Sanders Memorial STC Sprint Triathlon and Duathlon
Stockport Tri Club hosts the John Sanders Memorial STC Sprint Triathlon and Duathlon at Poynton Leisure Centre on Sunday 27 September 2026. The event uses a 25 metre pool with controlled lanes and seeded starts, followed by a bike loop around the lanes of Higher Poynton and a run that follows part of the Middlewood Way. The event is licensed by British Triathlon and timed by Nifty Event Services using chip timing.
Event formats and approximate distances include:
- Triathlon: 400 m pool swim, ~20 km bike, ~5 km run.
- Duathlon: 5 km run, ~20 km bike, 5 km run.
Entry fees are set at £25 for entries before the end of June and £30 thereafter. Entries close in late September 2026. Relay categories are offered alongside individual entries. Entrants must be British Triathlon members with a race licence or obtain a British Triathlon Race Pass as part of entry. Participants receive a finishers medal with an option to decline the medal during entry for sustainability. Refunds are only possible if organisers can find a reserve to take the place and transfers are not allowed. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
