60th Annual John Demille Firecracker 8K Road Race
The event is an 8K road race held on July 4, 2026, in Bethel, Connecticut, at 1 School Street, Clifford J. Hurgin Municipal Center. Timing is electronic: chip timing and split times are provided, with finish times posted after the race by Fast Track Timing LLC.
Prizes are awarded for overall finishers and age categories. Overall prizes are $200 for first place, $100 for second place, and $50 for third place for both male and female finishers. Age-group prizes are awarded in the following categories, excluding the top three overall: 10 & under, 11-14, 15-18, 19-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, and 70+.
Amenities include a tech shirt and race packet guaranteed to participants registered by June 5. Race day packet pick up is available and shirt sizes are first come, first serve. A water station and refreshments will be available to participants on the course.
