John Clarke Memorial Race

The John Clarke Memorial Fell Race is a Category A fell race. It is considered the only race of this category located inside London's M25 motorway. The course involves several ups and downs around the Yardley Valley to achieve the necessary ascent. The finish is on Pole Hill, which offers views over the Lea Valley towards central London.

Entry is managed through the SPOND platform for a fee of £5. Organizers encourage pre-entry to avoid administrative tasks and queues on the day. On-the-day entry is possible but closes one hour before the start. The start line is a ten-minute easy jog from the clubhouse, which also serves as the location for post-race refreshments. The event takes place in late June.

Previous results, course maps, and event memories are archived on the organizer's website. The current male course record is held by W Stanley (20:20, 2017) and the female record by R Thomas (25:11, 2017). Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
