JMU 9/11 5K
The JMU 9/11 5K is a collaborative running event organized by VA Momentum and JMU Valor at James Madison University. Held on the university's East Campus in Harrisonburg, the event serves to commemorate September 11th and honor student heroes. This race is open to the public, including Harrisonburg community members, JMU students, faculty, and staff.
Participants complete a 5 km (5K) route that traverses various scenic areas of the East Campus. The course is chip-timed to provide accurate results for all participants. The start and finish lines are situated behind the Festival Conference and Student Center.
The event is designed to accommodate different movement styles, including both walkers and runners. Registration categories are available for several groups:
- 5K for current college students
- 5K for participants aged 17 and under
- 5K for non-students
Ample parking is provided on-site for participants who do not possess a standard JMU parking permit. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
