Jingle Bear Trot
The Jingle Bear Trot is a community fun run organized by the McCleary Civic Renewal Council on the first Saturday in December as part of the city’s annual train lighting celebration. The course loops around Beerbower Park, where holiday lights and seasonal displays are installed.
Distances offered include:
- 1 mile (ish)
- 5k
Participants are invited to wear holiday costumes or bring jingle bells. Prizes are awarded for the best costumes. The event is presented as a leisurely trot, run, or walk and is described as a family friendly activity that supports community events and activities.
Registration carries a fee of $5 per person and is free for children under 5 years old. After the trot the program includes a train lighting ceremony, Santa sightings and photos, a cookies and cocoa reception, a performance by Elma Little Cheer, the SpodyFest Christmas Convoy, and additional seasonal activities and displays in the park.
