Jingle Bear Trot
The Jingle Bear Trot is a community fun run held on the first Saturday in December in McCleary. The course loops around Beerbower Park, where holiday lights and displays are installed in the park. The event is presented as part of the citys annual train lighting celebration that marks the start of the holiday season.
Distances offered:
- 1 mile
- 5k
Participants are encouraged to dress in holiday costumes or bring jingle bells. Prizes are awarded for best costumes. The event carries a registration fee of $5 per person and is free for children under 5 years old.
The program around the trot includes a train lighting ceremony, Santa sightings and photos, a cookies and cocoa reception, a performance by Elma Little Cheer, and the SpodyFest Christmas Convoy among other activities. The event is organized by the McCleary Civic Renewal Council as one of several MCRC fun runs that raise funds for community events and activities.
