Saturnalia
Saturnalia is a roughly 10K trail race held in Squaxin Park, Olympia, Washington, with start and finish at the Reeves Middle School track in the Eastside neighborhood. The route uses most of the park’s upper and lower loop trails and offers views of Puget Sound and the Capitol above downtown Olympia.
The event tracks times but does not use podiums; all finishers receive awards. There is no enforced cutoff and walking the course is permitted. A fully stocked aid station is located at the finish line and includes water, oranges, hot beverages, and holiday treats. Basic first aid and safety support are provided.
The race is organized as a cupless, low waste event. Participants are asked to bring a collapsible cup; a small number of cups will be available for purchase at packet pickup. Recycling and food waste bins will be provided and trash receptacles will be limited. Packet pickup takes place on race day at the Reeves Middle School track and a brief pre-race briefing occurs at the start line.
Registration includes a finisher medal made by Wolfmother Workshop, a finisher gift, a limited edition race sticker, finish line high fives, and a tree planted for each finisher through One Tree Planted. Parking is available at Reeves Middle School; the park remains open to the public during the race. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
