Saturnalia
Saturnalia is a year-end trail race organized by Rock Candy Running in Olympia, Washington. The event is scheduled for 12 December 2026 and is presented as a roughly 10 km trail run that starts and finishes at the Reeves Middle School track. The route uses most of the upper and lower loops of Squaxin Park, including the Ellis Cove trail, and offers views of Puget Sound and the state Capitol above downtown Olympia.
The race does not use traditional podiums; all finishers receive a finisher medal and a finisher gift. Registration includes a finisher medal made by Wolfmother Workshop, a limited edition race sticker, finish line high fives, basic safety and medical support, and a tree planted for each finisher through One Tree Planted. The finish-area aid station is stocked with water, oranges, holiday treats and hot beverages. Volunteers staff aid and event support.
This is a cupless, zero-waste event. Participants are asked to bring a collapsible cup; cups will be available for purchase at race packet pickup. Restrooms are available at the Reeves gym and bins for recycling and food waste will be provided. The trails remain open to other users during the event, and parking is provided at Reeves Middle School. There is no enforced course cutoff and participants may walk the course.
