Jimmie Hale Mission Rescue Run
The Jimmie Hale Mission Rescue Run takes place on October 3, 2026 in Homewood, Alabama. The start and finish are on 29th Avenue South between 18th Street South and 19th Street South. Race day packet pickup is at the Old Homewood Police Station parking lot at 1833 29th Ave South. Pre-race packet pickup is offered on September 30 and October 2 at Trak Shak, 2839 18th South.
Distances offered
- 10K double loop of the 5K course, chip timed, RUN-only and a time limit applies
- 5K chip timed; walkers welcome
- 1 Mile Fun Run in-person run or walk
Virtual options are available for the 10K, 5K and 1 Mile, and a Sleep In option provides a race T-shirt only with mail or pickup options. Registered participants receive a race T-shirt and the first 400 registrants receive swag bags and guaranteed shirts while supplies last. Post-race food and drinks include water and sports drink.
Awards for the 5K and 10K are given for male and female overall finishers and in 10-year age groups: 14 and under, 15 to 19, 20 to 29, 30 to 39, 40 to 49, 50 to 59, 60 to 69, and 70 plus. Team discounts apply once the fifth team member is registered; team members 1 to 4 receive a $5 credit. Parking is available in the Soho parking lot and on nearby streets. Pets on leash and strollers are allowed; children in strollers should remain in the stroller until crossing the finish line.
There are no refunds. Bib transfers must be completed by October 1. The event may be canceled in extreme circumstances and entry fees would be used as a donation to The Jimmie Hale Mission. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
