Jim Thorpe Run
The Jim Thorpe Run is a community running event hosted by Native Health Initiative as a fundraiser for the Sports Warriors program. It takes place at the Southwestern Indian Polytechnic Institute in Albuquerque and includes multiple race formats and youth activities.
Event activities include a 2 mile fun walk, a 5k race, a 1k youth run for children 12 and under, and a toddler dash. The schedule also lists a Traditional Pueblo throw followed by awards.
Packet pickup is available the day before at Heart and Sole Sports (San Mateo location) and there is packet pick-up and on-site registration at SIPI on the day of the event.
Age group awards for the 5k are offered for female and male divisions in these groups: 14 and under, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70-79, and 80+. Age group awards for the 1k youth run are offered for female and male divisions in these groups: 8 and under, 9-10, and 11-12.
