About the race
The 12th Annual JBLF 5K & Carnival is a community fundraising event in Arlington, Virginia, held at Knights of Columbus, 5115 Little Falls Rd. The event combines a certified 5K road race with activities for children and a family carnival in the parking area.
Distances and formats include:
- 5K certified course through the neighborhood.
- Kids' fun run with two waves after the 5K course clears.
After the run the site becomes a carnival with food, games and rides. Onsite activities listed for the day include moon bounces, laser tag, a mechanical bull, balloon animals, face painting and community performances.
Proceeds support maternal and infant health programs run by the organizing foundation. Funds help economically vulnerable women access prenatal care, car seats, safe sleep supplies and related support services. The event presents an opportunity for the local community to gather around the foundation's work and see what has been achieved with prior fundraising.
