JB Pearl Harbor Hickam - CMSAF Binnicker Memorial Run
The CMSAF Binnicker Memorial Run at JB Pearl Harbor Hickam is scheduled for October 3, 2026, at Hickam Beach and is hosted by AFSA Chapter 1550. The event features a single 9K road run open to runners on a marked out-and-back course.
The course is described as flat and fast, following the Mamala Bay Drive trail out to the historic "Missing Man" route and returning to Hickam Beach. The race offers an official race shirt and a challenge coin to the first 50 registrants. Registration opens August 12, 2026 and closes October 1, 2026; the stated registration fee is $30.
Proceeds from the event benefit the memory care wing at the Air Force Enlisted Village’s assisted living residence, Hawthorn House, which supports residents with Alzheimer’s disease and dementia. The event includes an Extra Mile Challenge that allows participants to create fundraisers; participants who commit to raising $109 may receive a refund of their registration costs after meeting that fundraising level. Every dollar raised is designated for care and support of residents at Hawthorn House.
The event traces back to an inaugural 9K in August 2015 at Bob Hope Village in Shalimar, Florida. The run honors CMSAF James C. Binnicker, who served as the ninth Chief Master Sergeant of the Air Force and later as President and CEO of the Air Force Enlisted Village from 2000 to 2015.
