Jarid Taylor Memorial Run

The Jarid Taylor Memorial Run is an annual community event held in Durant, Oklahoma. The event takes place near the end of July to celebrate the life and birthday of a Bryan County Sheriff’s Deputy who lost his life in the line of duty. This memorial event serves to bring the community together and provide support for local law enforcement agencies.

The race offers two distinct distances for participants:

  • 5K Run
  • 1 Mile Fun Run

Participants can collect their race packets on the Friday preceding the event. In addition to the running categories, there is an option for individuals to purchase an event t-shirt separately.

Proceeds from the event are distributed to several organizations and initiatives. A portion of the funds supports the Oklahoma chapter of C.O.P.S., which provides resources to family members and co-workers of fallen officers. Financial support is also directed toward the Heart of a Hero award for police academy graduates and the Blessed Peacemaker award, which honors an officer from a Bryan County police department based on peer nominations. Additionally, the event partners with local law enforcement to assist with the purchase of equipment and supplies, with the Bryan County Sheriff’s Office as the designated partner for the current year. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
